Tuesday, May 22, 2018 - UMC receives valuable advice from responding Las Vegas shooting medical team
University Medical Center staff is developing a "multiple casualty incident plan" and recently gained valuable advice from the Sunrise Hospital team that treated dozens victims suffering from gunshot wounds at the mass Las Vegas shooting in November 2015.

Ann Mouille, a charge nurse in UMC's emergency department, said the presentation given by Sunrise Hospital's Dr. Dave MacIntyre, a trauma surgeon and Dorita Sondereker, director of emergency services, left her feeling "confident" the New Orleans hospital is on the right track.
