Visitor Guidelines

Thanks for taking the time to support your loved one’s care and recovery. UMC New Orleans welcomes visitors because they are important to patient healing. 

 

Visiting Hours

General Patient Care Units:
Visiting hours are from 8 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Two visitors are allowed at a time per patient.

Critical Care Units:
8 a.m. - 8:30 p.m. Two visitors are allowed at a time per patient.

 

Smoke-Free Campus

To maintain a healing environment, UMC New Orleans is a smoke-free campus. Smoking, vaping and tobacco use are not permitted anywhere on our campus, including the grounds, buildings and parking areas.

Donating blood is an easy way to help patients at UMC New Orleans. Learn how you can donate the gift of life.

In the best interest of our patients, we ask that visitors who have a fever, symptoms of a cold or flu, or any other type of communicable disease not come to the hospital. We ask that visitors talk quietly since people are trying to rest and heal. Please refrain from using cell phones on patient floors. In the interest of patient privacy, please do not take photographs of patients in our hospital.
