UMC Gives Back
How our hospital takes care of the New Orleans community
While healthcare is something everyone needs, it sometimes reaches levels where people can no longer afford it. University Medical Center New Orleans is committed to helping our New Orleans community, no matter a person’s financial ability. Our Spirit of Charity Foundation uses contributions from donors to help people get the care they need.
The Spirit of Charity Foundation provides funding for:
- Cancer care
- Medical research
- Education and development
- Transportation assistance
More than healthcare
UMC does more than just offer outstanding care to residents throughout the area. We also have the largest training center in the state, serving as the training center for both LSU Health New Orleans and Tulane University School of Medicine.
Our hospital employs over 2,500 individuals as well, acting as a major economic force in our community. With our staff, we are better able to maintain the reputation we have earned as a life-saving hospital.
