Meet the 2020-21 officers and new board members for University Medical Center Management Corporation

University Medical Center Management Corporation, the governing board of University Medical Center New Orleans, named its officers for its 2020-21 term and welcomed three new board members. Jaimmé A. Collins will serve as Chairperson and Brandy M. Johnson, DNP, Stephen Sontheimer, and Leon J. “Trey” Reymond join the board as new members. Dr. Johnson will serve as Secretary-Treasurer.

University Medical Center Management Corporation officers serve one-year terms.


Jaimmé A. Collins, Chairperson

Ms. Collins is a partner at Adams and Reese LLP. Ms. Collins counsels clients on corporate governance, contractual and general business matters, and government regulatory compliance issues. As a commercial litigator, she has also represented clients entangled in disputes involving breach of contract, property, insurance coverage, and products liability and helped resolve conflicts between corporate directors and shareholders. Before becoming a lawyer, she worked in the Clinton Administration in the Office of Political Affairs. She later worked as a staff member for the United States Senator Mary Landrieu. Her work in the executive branch and on Capitol Hill informs the service she delivers to her clients, particularly with corporate governance and compliance issues. Her civic engagement includes serving as a Trustee of the University Medical Center Management Corporation since 2013, as a board member Fellow of the Norman C. Francis Leadership Institute; and as Trustee of the Children’s Bureau of New Orleans since 2010, which she chaired for four years. She has been honored by many national and regional organizations for both her service to clients and diversity work.

Brandy M. Johnson, DNP, Secretary-Treasurer

Dr. Johnson is Director of Education and Employee Health at BridgePoint Continuing Hospital in Marrero. She previously served as Lead Registered Nurse Clinical Educator at University Medical Center. Prior to joining University Medical Center, she worked as a Registered Nurse Instructor at Delgado Community College-Charity School of Nursing and as a Certified Nursing Assistant Instructor/Program Coordinator in the Jefferson Parish Public School System. Dr. Johnson began her career as a registered nurse in the Intensive Care Unit at Ochsner Medical Center. In 2019, she was named a Great 100 Nurse of Louisiana and received a Daisy Award for nursing excellence. Dr. Johnson received is a graduate of Charity School of Nursing and Louisiana State University Health Science Center.

Leon J. “Trey” Reymond

Mr. Reymond is a business lawyer at Lisko & Lewis., Mr. Reymond handles mergers and acquisitions, business and financing transactions, negotiation and drafting of commercial contracts, corporate planning and compliance, securities law, and business entity structuring, and formation. Prior to entering the legal field, he practiced as a Certified Public Accountant with Arthur Andersen & Co. He maintains the distinction of Certified Public Accountant, inactive. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame and Vanderbilt University School of Law.

Stephen Sontheimer

Mr. Sontheimer is the senior consultant of funeral services at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home and Cemeteries. Mr. Sontheimer is a fourth-generation funeral director as his family has been in the industry since 1916. He was the former chairman and chief executive officer of Security Industrial Funeral Home Corporation and for the past 22 years has been a funeral director-consultant associated with Bultman and Tharp-Sontheimer Funeral Homes. Sontheimer is a graduate of the Tulane University School of Business.
