LCMC Health ranked no. 1 healthcare organization in Louisiana

New Orleans, LA – LCMC Health has been named to the list of Forbes “Best Employers” in 2021.

“We are humbled by this designation, especially during a time when our teams were grappling with the fourth surge of COVID-19 and a major hurricane,” said Greg Feirn, CEO, LCMC Health. “It certainly reflects our teams’ dedication to providing extraordinary care to our community. We are proud of the care they give and are grateful for their tireless efforts.”

As an employer, LCMC Health continues to express its gratitude to the hospital teams, including through “Operation Bon Appetit,” through which every employee received a Visa gift card in September 2020 valued at either $100 or $50 to be spent in a local restaurant. The initiative infused nearly $1 million into the locally hard-hit restaurant industry.

Most recently, LCMC Health provided more than $7 million in emergency relief funds to employees in an expression of gratitude for their dedication in the face of Hurricane Ida.

“We challenge our hospital family to offer a little extra in their work every day and being named to the “Best Employers” list by Forbes shows that our people unfailingly meet that challenge,” added Feirn.

Forbes partnered with market research company Statista to compile its annual list of America’s Best Employers By State. The list is divided into 51 rankings—one for each of the 50 states, plus the District of Columbia—and was compiled by surveying 80,000 Americans working for businesses with at least 500 employees. Surveys were conducted on a rolling basis from October 2020 to June 2021, notably among the toughest months in dealing with a worldwide pandemic

Unlike Forbes’ annual lists of the best large and midsize employers, this ranking sought to demonstrate how perceptions of companies differ from state to state based on local leadership and economies. They then ranked the top 3 to 101 companies in each state, depending on the size of their workforce. Despite being among the hardest hit by the pandemic, employers in healthcare, education, and retail dominated the rankings, accounting for 41% of the 2021 list, up from 38% last year.
