Dining at University Medical Center

Visit the University Medical Center Cafeteria for daily specials, items from the grill and a variety of choices to grab and go. Stop by PJ's Coffee, a New Orleans favorite, for its selection of coffees, teas and snacks.

Hospital dining

The cafeteria is located on the first floor of the Hospital building near Patient Tower 3.

Hours of Operation
Sunday - Saturday: 6:30 am - 6:30 pm

We ask that patients who are admitted to the hospital not use the cafeteria since they may be on special diets.

PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans

PJ's Coffee is located on in the dining area near Tower 3. It offers a selection of coffee and other beverages, pastries and grab-and-go meals.

Open 7 days a week
6:00 am - 1 am

Patient meals

Dietary & food services

Food plays an extremely important part in your healthcare and recovery. Upon your doctor’s order, a registered dietitian will provide nutrition counseling. It is important that you follow a diet that is recommended to you by your doctor and dietitian. Please do not eat food prepared outside of the hospital unless approved by your doctor. The outside food could work against your treatment.

If you are scheduled for tests, your mealtimes may be changed. You will get your meal at the end of a test or at the next mealtime.

If you are patient in a general patient care unit, you can place your meal order from our Treat Yourself menu by calling extension 23085.

Inpatient meals are served during the following times:

• Breakfast: Between 6:30 am and 10 am
• Lunch: Between 10:45 am and 3 pm
• Dinner: Between 3:45 pm and 6:30 pm

We invite your visitors to eat in the University Medical Center Cafeteria, located on the first floor of the Hospital.
