Cancer Care

When you or a loved one is dealing with cancer, having the best care close by is a comfort. The Cancer Center at University Medical Center, accredited by the American College of Surgeons-Commission on Cancer, offers patients a comprehensive approach to their cancer care.

We offer access to the latest technologies for the early detection and prevention of cancer, as well as the most up-to-date treatment options based upon national treatment guidelines put forth by the National Comprehensive Cancer Network. Patients in our care benefit from a consensus developed by all our cancer physicians and specialists from medical, surgical, and radiation oncology. Our team discusses each patient and creates a personalized treatment plan.

Our Cancer Center also offers the convenience of having a single location for clinic visits and treatments such as chemotherapy infusion and radiation oncology. We have a state-of-the art imaging center for every possible need, such as screening/diagnostic mammograms, ultrasound, CT scans, MRI, PET/CT scans, and several other studies that may be required. We also give patients access to new and emerging treatments through clinical trials, many of which are available only at University Medical Center New Orleans.
